Apex Farmers Market – N Salem St
Sweet Potato Festival | September 18, 2021 | 9-11 a.m.
Oktoberfest | October 2, 2021 | 9-11 a.m.
The Apex Farmers Market sells vibrant homegrown produce and delicious homemade products every Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon in the heart of Downtown Apex. It’s something of a community celebration each week, with dozens of vendors and hundreds of visitors mingling and enjoying themselves. The Market also holds special events throughout the year, many of which are family-focused. This fall, they are holding the first annual Sweet Potato Festival in celebration of the state vegetable, and Oktoberfest complete with kids activities and live music.

Pumpkins, pies, and mums – oh my! Come out to the quintessential fall pumpkin patch in Apex, NC and take home a wheelbarrow-full of great fall finds. There’s a large variety of pumpkins and gourds to choose from, rows upon rows of brightly-colored mums, home-baked pumpkin pies, Indian corn, locally-grown apples, sweet potatoes, and corn stalks.

If pumpkin picking is your thing (and for many Apex families with young children — it is!), then Jean’s Berry Patch is another great farm to choose beautiful pumpkins, enjoy mini donuts and apple cider, take a hayride, and buy farm fresh produce. Jean also operates a Neighborhood Market where you can buy tasty seasonal foods like Pumpkin Spice Homemade Ice Cream, Apple Cinnamon Pecan Jam, Spiced Pumpkin Butter, Cherry Apple Bourbon Butter, and Muscadine Preserves. Yum!

Nothing says Thanksgiving like turkey — whether that’s eating one or running after one! The 23rd Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run is a fun event for the whole family with 13 different divisions of competitive runners. There’s also a recreational division where entrants will not be timed and can participate at their own pace. This year’s course will talk you through Apex Community Park and around a scenic lake.
53 Hunter Street | Tuesday, December 20, 2021 | 6 p.m.
Everyone can participate in this fun family basketball tournament that awards prize hams to all winners! Teams consist of two family members — one adult and one child — and the team that collectively scores the most points in its age division is declared the winner. It’s a fun way to bond with neighbors and kick off the holiday season.
